Atmospheric water generator humidity requirements

Humidity is one of the most important variables in water from air performance. More available moisture generally makes condensation easier and increases potential output.

Humidity mattersMore moisture is available to condense.
Temperature mattersDew point changes with both temperature and humidity.
Conditions varyDaily and seasonal changes affect output.

Relative humidity is only part of the picture

The same relative humidity at different temperatures does not represent the same absolute amount of water in the air. That is why performance should be evaluated using the actual conditions where a system will run.

Published testing shows large swings

Research on refrigeration based atmospheric water generation has found meaningful changes in water production and energy consumption as temperature and relative humidity change. That supports measuring local conditions rather than assuming a fixed daily yield.

What to measure before a DIY build

Track temperature and relative humidity at the intended operating location across different times of day. If your climate has large seasonal swings, plan around the weaker season rather than the best day of the year.

Continue with AWG output expectations and electricity use.
